WordPress, SSL/TLS and HTTPS

(or – How to get your website ready for the Chrome security update)

Wednesday, October 25th

11am Pacific / 12noon Mountain / 1pm Central / 2pm Eastern

Our website hands are getting forced on this one. The deadline is Friday, Oct 27, 2017.

Google Chrome which accounts for 76% of online browser usage will be marking any page of your website as “Not Secure” once a user enters any data on that page if it not secure – that is, if it is not showing as HTTPS secure. Here is the announcement.

This includes,

  • Your contact form;
  • Your email opt-in / lead magnet forms;
  • Your surveys and questionnaires;
  • You blog comment fields;
  • Even your website’s search bar!

But the steps are more than just installing an SSL certificate. You need to force your pages to display in HTTPS and you need to rid your site of “mixed content” – that is, any link on your website (in the code or as entered by you) that links to an HTTP resource.

How do you do this, specifically on WordPress? That is what I plan to discuss.

Join us on Wednesday, October 25th for a live webinar followed by Question and Answer. I expect the teaching to last about 30 minutes and Q & A for another 30 minutes as needed. The webinar will be recorded and a link to the recording will be emailed out to participants after the event (about 24-48 hours after).

Fill out the form here to reserve your spot (there is limited space) and we will email you details on how to join.

Can’t make it to the live webinar? Fill out the registration form and there is an option on the form to indicate you just want the recording link emailed to you. See you soon!
